HELLO DEAR FRIENDS!
For those of you who know me you know, I get really excited over finding and trying out a new coffee shop. I love the atmosphere you find in each unique shop. Some may be busy and bright, while others are quaint and quiet. You most always see individuals working away at their computers or the latest novel. Coffee shops are a place to gather. They are a place to connect. More importantly, they are a place for you to slow down and enjoy a moment. This moment can be in the solitude of sipping a warm drink alone or resting in conversation with a friend. In this series called Coffee Shop Talk, I want to do three things.
First, I want to feature a local business. I think it is so important we support our local businesses. Men and women work very hard each and every day, to bring you and me an experience, and product that stands separate from the consumer crazed world of mass production and speed. Specifically, local coffee will often put much love and care into their craft. They want to provide you with quality coffee unlike that of many large consumer chains. Each Coffee Shop Talk will highlight the shop and what makes them stand out.
Secondly, I want this to be a place of conversation. I love inviting people out for coffee so we can sit and chat! There is something intimate about sitting down with no distractions and having a dear conversation. I want to focus on a topic. This topic is going to be something you want to read about. If you want to have your topic discussed in one of my Coffee Shop Talks, stay tuned in to my Instagram @abigail_.nicole for opportunities to share your topics
Finally, I want your time spent reading each Coffee Shop Talk, to be refreshing. Just as if you went and spent time away from your busy day to sip your favorite drink and read or talk to a friend. As you read let yourself slow down even for just a moment.
Now that I have given you a little bit about what these talks are all about I wanna share with you a coffee shop I ran into with some friends! Recently, I was able to road trip with two friends for some business. As we were heading back, we were told to check out the next town over. While we did not have a lot of time we were needing a little adventure. We walked up the street of tiny Travelers Rest, SC. It was a very odd town for sure! Known for its Swamp Rabbit Trail, businesses and buildings displayed many rabbits in title and design.
At the end of the street, we came across Tandem. It's yellow sign welcomed us into its door. We were greeted with bright smiles and an aroma that I love way too much. This shop unique with its big windows and hints of a cheerful yellow brought great joy to all three of us as we were in need of some caffeine. Plants stood on each table and in the windows. They also appeared in the subtle art, hanging on the walls.
I love asking baristas at each new shop what their favorite drinks are. More times then not I end up with something unique or outside of my box. On this day, I asked away as usual and was told his favorite was straight espresso. This excited me because not every shop has espresso so good you wanna take it straight. This was a good espresso! Stong and warm in flavor my coffee craving was satisfied. If you ever find your self a traveler in Travelers Rest, needing some rest (see what I did there, haha), go check out Tandem! Let me know what you order and what you think about it. You can even step outside of your box and order what the barista likes. Let me know what you order and what you think about it.
How do you like to spend time in coffee shops? Is it with a book, journal, friend, or computer? Comment below and let me know. Also, if you have a coffee shop you would like me to check out tell me about it! Well until our next Coffee Shop Talk, I wish you the best!
Sincerely with love,
